I have had a zassenhaus wall mounted grinder in storage for a number of year for I purchased it and then realized I had no convienient place to place it; consequently used a "knee type grinder.
Well, moving to Baja California approx. 1 1/2 years ago I found myself resorting to an electric grinder; both grinders placed in storage while we were building our new house. Well, today I'm pleased, an understatement, to say that I have now installed my wall unit. It truly is a part of the morning ritual and extremely enjoyable to again hand grind the morning coffee ;finally using my wall mounted unit!!!! Still not completed unpacked and consequently don't know where my other unit is at?? Also, I now find that zassenhaus has for a couple of years ago discontinued making the wall units; what a shame!!!I hope the total ritual of handgrinding the morning coffee doesn't go by the wayside???

We bought ours in Vancouver at the Elysian room. You can also buy them on Amazon. Not many stores carry them in-stock.

My granmother, who is 90, no longer drinks my mother's coffee because she has been spoiled by mine. My husband and I use a hand grinder much like this one. We have been searching high and low for a similar hand grinder to give her for a holiday gift, but cannot find one. In searching the net, I've come across your blog. But it does not state where you purchased the grinder. I'm ready to give up and give her my used grinder... but then, I am left without **sigh**

Please... help me find where I can purchase a new hand grinder... The electric ones are horrible...

Where did you find your zassenhaus? I am looking for one as well. I've been looking on ebay. This grinder is going for 140.00 or so.

I do recommend it. Appart from being a good grinder I really enjoy using my hands to grind the coffe every morning.
I paid around $100CAD for it. You can find cheaper look-alikes in kitchen stores, but you really get what you pay for.
