Wired Monk a no go
Related entries in Coffee ExperiencesWell, we popped over to Wired Monk and its Starbucks-like interior, went up to buy our coffee but it was a no go: cash only.
It seems they still have a few wrinkles to work out. We’ll check back next week – and have cash – to see how they are doing.

Even peering in from the outside while in a passing bus, this place immediately screams “Starbucks”, so I agree that it is tough to be excited about a place like this. If they are taking after the look of SBs, they are likely taking after the quality (or lack thereof) as well =/

went there a few days later after their official opening…find it much better than starbuck’s….the interior is attractive and relaxing…as a coffee shop should be….it’s not a corporate monster feeling like i get in the starbuck’s…but feel much more at home sitting here in the kits wise monk shop…plus i like the coffee better

I just moved to Langley and must say that the number of Wired Monk coffee shops here made me apprehensive about it at first, since I am very anti-corporation for sustainability reasons.
But after stopping by it on a late evening recently, I am now a big fan of it; my main reason being that I learnt they served only fair-trade organic coffee; or at least that’s what the server told me. And they had a shelf advertising some local artists. Morally, this is where I would want to spend my money.
On top of that, they served some alcohol, like beers, wines, and a few mixed drinks. I love that! It’s nice to be able to have a cold one sometimes in a coffee shop atmosphere!
They also had food, which is a big plus to me as I’m always hungry. And I don’t mean just the biscotti’s and banana bread you find at almost every coffee shop (which by the way they have), I mean breakfast bagel sandwiches served all day long and some other filling stuff too, though I can’t remember that part of the menu at the moment.
This is my kinda coffee shop!
