Cafe Crema Review
Related entries in Coffee Reviews, Vancouver coffeeA while back, we had the opportunity to try a new cafe on this side of the water – Cafe Crema in West Van, off the Ambelside strip.
You’ll be impressed with what you see at the cafe. It’s has a very upscale yet comfortable feel. The space feels very open and the decor is amazing – lots of wood, great photography. The design was done with very particular aims for the right atmosphere in the cafe, and I think they did a great job at that.
Cafe Crema serves JJ Bean coffee, and Ianiv and I both have only good things to say about it. A good cup of coffee combines good coffee beans with a good barista. We’ll definitely consider it our ‘coffee place’ in the Ambelside area.

I love Crema! It used to be Bojangles last summer and it’s MUCH improved since then. The staff are great, they already just get “the usual” for my mom whenever she walks in the door!

I actually plan to do a review of my top cafe around the lower mainland.
What impresses me the most is not only the atmosphere but the attention to detail and customer care. It is fresh and yet warm with hints of tropical plants and paintings and espresso colour furniture. There’s a splash of orange once in awhile depending what dish or drink is served to you.
The staff enjoy their job and it shows especially on a stormy day; they are bright and helpful and energetic.
The specialty drinks are amazing.
But I highly recommend their sandwiches and desserts.
I have not come in at night and wonder what the feel is like in sleepy West Van but who knows, it might be surprising as it is during the day.

World on the street is that these guys are for sale. Not even a year open. Seems like nothing can survive in this spot? Too bad, looks like these guys are gonna lose a lot of money.

Hey Eric, I’m part of the family that owns Cafe Crema.
I assure you, we’re not for sale and never have been :)
Our first year has exceeded our expectations and you can expect to see us on Bellevue for a long time to come.

There is nothing we “volkssporters” appreciate more, after our frequent hikes through the wilds of Ambleside, than coffee and a snack at Cafe Crema. Glad to see they are becoming a permanent — and delicious — part of the West Vancouver scene.
Two questions: Why don’t they have a better web presence? Even their video on You Tube is gone; and why can’t I see the three pictures on this page?

As a coffee lover, i have found that even when i have travelled to different cafe’s i have not found one that takes the care that cafe Crema does on every drink that they make. Every single drink that the baristas make is done with perfect care and complete accuracy as the baristas. Highly suggested for coffee lovers.

Last week I dropped by Cafe Crema… What an amazing experience! I dont think I had ever enjoyed being in a coffee shop so much.
The people are so friendly, the atmosphere is amazing, and most of all I like that its a family business. I hope Cafe Crema stays in the neighbourhood for many years to come.

Cafe Crema was the best I had found around the greater Vancouver, for the exceptional coffees and great sandwiches. And I have tried most places around!
I have to say that the last 3 times I went were very disappointing. I did not even finish my coffee. The pastries and sandwiches are still very nice, but what happened to the coffee? I am not going back, sadly. And am still looking for a replacement.
