Murchie’s under new ownership

Vancouver coffee and tea chain Murchie’s is under new ownership by a Victoria family, under management of Belmont Management.
Murchie’s is a 113-year-old Vancouver landmark with five metro Vancouver stores and one Victoria store. The chain was facing bankruptcy.
The new managing director, Grant Kuebler, thinks marketing lies at the root of the issue – a good product that has gone unmarketed. Though the name may be well known, it is not top-of-mind in product purchase decisions.
What will this change bring? More locations, modernization (behind-the-scenes and up front), and broader marketing.
"So we see an opportunity there, and within a year our goal is to get a blueprint in place that will allow us to expand."

I have been buying Murchie’s coffee for 10 years or more, usually by ‘phone through the mail or through a local business in Summerland who retailed Murchie’s products. Sometimes, while on a trip to the White Rock area I would buy coffee from the local White Rock or Surrey Murchie store.
I liked to buy the Murchie coffee’s Mocha Java brand. I believed it contained some what less caffeine and had mild taste.
I guess my question would be: Do the new owners
have plans to continue the daily operation of Murchies business right away? If not , at what date would they resume the daily business activities? I have about three weeks supply left in my freezer.
I would be quite pleased to hear from the new owners. I include my full address below.

Elaine,
Murchie’s Tea and Coffee is still operating as usual. All the locations are all still open including the roasting facility here in Richmond. We invite you to come stop by and have a cup of coffee with us next time you are in town.
In regards to the Mocha Java, you are correct in the fact that it does have somewhat lower caffeine content than some of the competition(Murchie’s uses only Arabica beans). However, the fact that we still use product information such as this as a major selling point is just one of many examples of what Grant (managing director) was referring to when he mentioned a need for “changes” in the above article.
Many customers have changed with the times, and it is our opinion that we must change as well in order to meet the needs of our customers.
